Board Guidelines
By posting at the Sonic Club Forums, you agree to all the rules, remember that.

THESE RULES APPLY TO ALL FORUMS UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED BY A HIGH LEVEL SONIC CLUB STAFF MEMBER.

To assure our guidelines were pretty much complete we checked out other forums to see what their rules were to give us ideas on what rules we should have.

----------------------------------------------------------------

- Don't register if you're not going to use the forums

This happens WAY too often. People join and either never validate their account or never posts. These people also seem to just join, use the forums once, then never come back again. If this happens much more, we will start cracking down!!

- Don't join if you only plan to post only a couple of times

The title says it all, we don't want to see some newbie come in and post a few times, then never return again.

- No illegal or perverted content

Posting adult-oriented, or anything else disgusting like that will probably get you banned instantly, so a warning for that is DON'T POST IT!!! The rule about adult-oriented content is STRICTLY ENFORCED! Also nothing illegal.

- All Ages are accepted!

Although all ages are accepted, we do allow minimal cussing though, so be warned. Don't over-use it though. We are not responsible if you are younger than you should be and sign up, then your parents get upset. You are responsible for your own actions, so your parents don't have the right to sue us or anything dumb like that. If you are offended by a little bit of cussing, then don't join. In other words join at your own risk.

- When replying, make sure your posts aren't a waste

By that I mean no posting really stuff like "I agree" or "Yeah" or "Me too" basically anything that looks like you're just trying to get your post count up. If it's just a few words, it's probably not worth posting. Also, don't post an emoticon or lol by itself, etc. At least put a couple sentences or have more to say. We will however allow a little bit of this, but if you post, PLEASE make it a little more than a few words if possible. If we see too much of this going on we will strongly enforce this rule and it will cause you more trouble if you post something like that, so don't take advantage of us allowing a minimum right now.

- Newbie Talk

If you're a newbie (newbie means like new to something, a beginner) then you probably don't know that talking in caps constantly can annoy people if it is done enough. CAPS SHOULD BE USED TO YELL OR TO GET ATTENTION! NOT TO BE CONSTANTLY USED FOR TALKING! I will allow the online talking style of most newbie's though. That would basically mean like using "u" to replace "you" and "r" to replace "are". That's just an example, I know lots of people that have made a habit of talking that way, so I won't force you to change your talking style, please don't talk in all caps though.

- Post in the correct forum

This means please keep topics where they belong. We don't want to see a whole post about just Sonic X in the SatAM category and so on. If you just have something to post that doesn't belong on any other category, post it in General, anything is allowed there from introductions to just voicing your opinion on something.

- Double Posting

Please don't do it. If you forgot to say something, just edit your post. We don't want the same person cluttering up the topic with several small posts. Double posting is posting again in the same topic when no replies have even come in.

- Old Topic Reviving

Unless there's something important to say regarding a topic that hasn't had any replies for like a month old, please don't reply to it.

- Signatures and posts

No using huge fonts or huge images, if they are too big you will be told to fix or remove it. If you don't we will be forced to take actions, it would make the forums look sloppy if we let it continue.

- Ban/Punishment Jumping

If you are banned, it's for a good reason, NOT because you gave an opinion or something and we don't like it. Unlike other forums (you know who you are) who punish or ban users for just saying something simple that the moderators or admins just don't like, like maybe "I don't really like Sonic X". That would probably get you banned on some forums, but not here. So again, if you're punished, it was for a good reason, so don't try to get out of punishment with a new username or anything, it will probably just cause more trouble and get you in trouble for even longer.

- Flame Wars

Only small arguments are allowed, we don't want to see someone fighting over something like who the best Sonic character is or anything like that. As for insults, we don't want to see you insulting another Sonic fan with mean phrases and all that. If we see much of that, you get banned.

- Spamming and Flooding

That means no pointless messages or advertising. Also, you may mention your site or something, but don't keep posting about it. Definitely do not bring up anything about religion, politics, etc. That kind of stuff is likely to cause trouble if there is much of it.

- Repititious Actions

We don't want someone going around constantly saying "Where can I download sonic episodes?" That kind of stuff can get annoying after a few times, so please only limit something like that to once or something, ok?

- No Hate Posts

Don't post something just to say something like "I hate Sonic X! It Sucks!! Bla Bla Bla! Sonic Undeground was better!!!" To us a post like that just seems a bit useless and will probably just make you look bad, you can say you don't like something very much, but don't get all freaked out about it and stuff.

- Respect the Moderators and Administrators

The moderators and admins reserve the right to sustain peace at the forums and/or alter a post in any way if it is necessary (including, but not limited to, topic moving, locking, deleting, editing). For instance, we would probably move a post to the correct forum if posted in the wrong one, or we might delete it if it goes against our guidelines. Remember, you are not paying anything to be able to participate in our forums, so it's considered a privilege. If you abuse the privilege, you'll quickly find yourself without it.

- Do not harass the forum Moderators or Administrators

If a moderator or admin locks your topic and you jump out and say he/she was wrong, that'll get you into trouble, it would rarely happen unless we had a good reason to. Please do not post "I'll probably get banned for saying it but..." because that just makes us look bad. We will not ban unless it's a good reason like if you're causing trouble, So if you get banned, don't keep bothering us about things. More thank likely though you will NOT get banned, and definitely won't if you weren't doing anything wrong.
